Highway 14 is a mix of good and bad. I ride it a lot and am kind of use to it. You need to watch the shoulder and your rear view mirror. There are spots where the shoulder goes to nothing and you don't really want a semi coming along then. There is a short climb right out of Washougal and then a long climb that takes you up to the top pf the hill prior to Cape Horn. From Cape Horn to Cruzatt it is a nice downhill grade. You will remove clothing getting up to Cape Horn but coming down you might need a jacket on a slightly chilly day. |
